Paolo Ciriello
I was born in Livorno in 1971. Since i was a child, playing with my father’s Nikkormat and my grandfather’s Rolleiflex, a local photojournalist, i took useless underexposed and backlight photographs for love. In 2009, at the tender age of 38, i decided to turn my passion into a professional, abandoning my twenty-year and secure job as a polygraphist to dedicate myself to photography. The good opportunity came thanks to Paolo Virzì who offered me the opportunity to shoot “La prima cosa bella”. My passion for the moovie set finally exploded and since that day documented over 40 different films and TV series, alternating stills photography with commercial, portraits, lifestyle and advertising work.
